You can define a community by the shared attributes of the people in it and/or by the strength of the connections among them. Community is the focus of our display case this month, specifically our library community. This themed display is appropriately named “commYOUnity.” We’re very thankful there are a lot of people who come through our library doors and they all contribute something to our library. This library would not exist without the folks who  participate in programs, lend their time to volunteer their talents, linger in our spaces and care for each other and the library in general. You show up for potluck breakfasts with your food and smiles. You’re not afraid to attend programs that may offer different opinions and stretch your understanding of the world. You display your creativity in all manners of ways. You donate money and food for our fundraisers. You plant and weed so our outside is as welcoming as the inside.  You make sure we have craft materials for our children’s programs. You come to the library to seek each other out and to interact in all the best ways that a true community does and it is our mission to provide that space. Read the October Library Newsletter to find other ways we’re focusing on our library community.
