welcome Christine (Tina) Scherman from Leon Historical Society, as she presents the Living History Program; “Love Letters of a Union Soldier”. She will portray the girlfriend “Frant” from Leon NY who received letters from Edgar Shannon, who had joined the 154th New York Volunteers. Their ensuing correspondence unfolds a blossoming love amid Civil wartime terror, hardship, victories and defeats. The library will display Civil War books and provide refreshments. This is an educational program presented in an entertaining manner and designed for those age 12 and over. No registration needed but seating is limited
